About nflverse (nflreadr / nflreadpy / nflfastR)

nflverse is a volunteer-maintained group of open-source packages: nflfastR (play-by-play back to 1999 with EPA and win-probability models), nflreadr and nflreadpy for loading data in R and Python, nflseedR for season simulations, nfl4th and nflplotR. The older nfl_data_py package was deprecated in favor of nflreadpy and archived in September 2025. The code is free; the NFL data stays subject to its owners' terms.
