Why this exists
The DFS tools market is crowded and confusing. Most sites that compare DFS tools also sell their own, and the rules on where you can play change state by state, sometimes month to month. We wanted one place that lists everything and shows where every fact comes from.
DFS Directory was started by a DFS player with 15 years in the game. The same team makes Sleepers.app, a free weekly fantasy football sleeper board. When one of our own tools appears in the directory it's labeled as ours and never placed above other listings. Today we cover 30 sites, 204 tools and resources, and all 51 state legality pages.
How a listing is made
- We start from the product's own website, pricing page, help center and terms.
- We record structured facts: what it does, sports, which DFS sites it supports, price and free trial.
- We write the description ourselves, in plain language, without the marketing copy.
- We store the sources and the date we checked, and show both on the page.
- We recheck on a schedule, and immediately when a tool maker or reader reports a change.
How often we check
- Every week: an automated check visits every listed website and every source link and flags anything that's down, has moved or looks compromised.
- Every two weeks: state availability and new-user offers, straight from each operator's own pages. Legal changes are added to the tracker as they happen.
- Every month: every DFS and pick'em site profile.
- Every two months: every tool listing, on a rolling schedule.
If we can't confirm a fact from a real source, we leave it blank rather than guess.
State legality pages follow the same rule, using each operator's own availability pages, state statutes and regulator notices, and reputable industry reporting. Each state page lists its sources and a confidence level. They summarize public information and are not legal advice.
How rankings work
Lists are alphabetical or ordered by facts such as how many states a site is available in. Alternatives and comparisons are matched by category, sports and supported sites. We don't publish star ratings we haven't earned the data for; when we add user reviews they'll come from verified users only.
Paid placements
Listing a tool is free. Advertising is coming soon, and when it opens every paid placement will be labeled Sponsored or Ad and link with rel="sponsored". Payment will never change the facts on a listing. Read our advertising disclosure.
Corrections
If something is wrong, tell us through the listing form or at [email protected]. We fix factual errors quickly and note the new check date.
