Alternatives to Underdog

In September 2026 Underdog gave up its fantasy licenses in Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania, so you can't start new drafts there. Others want salary-cap lineups, which aren't on Underdog's game menu, or a different pick'em format. IG Group also agreed in July 2026 to buy Underdog.

Our picks, and who each one suits

  1. DraftKings

DraftKings runs Best Ball for NFL, NBA and MLB through snake drafts alongside $50,000 salary-cap contests, and its availability list includes all seven states where Underdog stopped drafts.

  2. FanDuel

FanDuel offers best ball and snake drafts next to salary-cap contests, and its terms list all seven of those states, though it bars paid entries in Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Washington.

  3. Drafters

Drafters is built around best ball: its 2026 NFL Best Ball Championship costs $15 with $1.5 million guaranteed and $250,000 to first, and its terms bar real-money play in CT, HI, ID, MO, MT, NV, PA and WA.

  4. Yahoo Daily Fantasy

Yahoo runs best ball and salary-cap daily contests in its fantasy app; its terms exclude CT, HI, ID, IA, LA, ME, MI, MT, NV and WA, and best ball also excludes Missouri.

  5. Sleeper

Sleeper suits pick'em players who also want free season-long leagues; its peer-to-peer Player Picks is listed in 30 states plus DC on iOS, including Massachusetts.

  6. PrizePicks

PrizePicks Player Picks is peer-to-peer pick'em with 2 to 6 athletes per lineup, offered in Massachusetts at 21+ but not in Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio or Pennsylvania.
